Next Monday, March 7th, I’m going back to Hawai’i. I’ll be there until March 28th. I have gone onto the Hawaii Safe Travels website and entered the date for my trip, and uploaded my Covid-19 vaccination card. Almost instantly, I received my QR code. You used to be required to fill out a questionaire withinContinue reading “Goin’ Back”

Building Permit Application
After nearly two years of mis-steps, I have finally submitted for a building permit. My first attempt over a year ago resulted in rejection by the County of Hawai’i because the plans I had with me had the Architect’s stamp on them but they were not signed by the Architect. Two months later, they wereContinue reading “Building Permit Application”
The Adventure you are ready for is the one you will get. – Jeff Probst
January 5, 2022 It is just a little after 6:00 AM and I am on a plane waiting to takeoff for Kona. I will stop in Los Angeles to change planes, and maybe I’ll get pre-cleared for Hawaii. When I got to the TSA Security for “C” gates, the line was out onto the concourse,Continue reading “The Adventure you are ready for is the one you will get. – Jeff Probst”
November 2019
I was deleting files on my computer, and came across this file. It is a log of my trip in November 2019. I think this was my first solo trip to Hawaii. November 2, 2019 4:30 AM SuperShuttle pick up at home and ride to Airport. 6:00 AM Delta flight from Terminal 3 at PhoenixContinue reading “November 2019”
Return to Paradise – 8/28 & 29
We went to the beach today. Ok, it isn’t a “beach” in the traditional Hollywood fashion, white powdered sand, waving palm trees, cabanas every ten feet, lounge chairs and cabana boys who bring you drinks with the little umbrellas – It is more of a shore line. A rocky shore line with short clifs whereContinue reading “Return to Paradise – 8/28 & 29”
March – April Daily Log
This post is a rather long post. It is a daily log of my three plus weeks in Hawai’i. Monday – March 22, 2021 So far, so good – no major mishaps so far on this trip – only a few minor ones. This morning I woke up and went on line to the DeltaContinue reading “March – April Daily Log”
Building A Deck
As we continue to stumble around trying to trim the vegetation, it becomes apparent that we need somewhere flat and level to simply sit. Also someplace to work from. The topography of the property is rough and tumble. It seems that the trees and shrubs are rooted in and among a jumble of rocks andContinue reading “Building A Deck”
Accomplishments
Now that I have been here in Hawaii for a few weeks, I guess it is time to stop and see just what I have accomplished. Perhaps the most important is that I have my solar panel system set up. Previously, I had purchased a 100 watt solar system, but I have yet to setContinue reading “Accomplishments”
Plans Received
I received the structural calculations today ( 9/18/2020) from the Architect that were done by the structural engineer for my Hawaiian Bungaloo. I received the stamped and signed plans yesterday. Now, I can submit them to the County of Hawai’i for a building permit. Also, I transferred the final funds for the third lot inContinue reading “Plans Received”
November progress
Returned on Thanksgiving day from Hawaii. While there, I did a little (very little – the chipper jammed) clearing of limbs and branches in the lower section near the shed/cabin. Most of the clearing took place next to and below the shed. I cleared an area for my compost toilet. Set a pallet there toContinue reading “November progress”
