May 12, 2024 Spraying my vegetable plants with insect repellant wasn’t such a good idea. It seems that the insect repellant is having more effect on the young plants than on the insects. They have all turned brown and are whithering up! I grabbed some water and put it into my garden sprayer and triedContinue reading “May Continues”

Second Week of May
Tuesday May 7, 2024 A little over a week ago, I had ordered some lumber and block and rebar from a building materials supply company in Kona. It was delivered today. It was the same delivery company, but a different driver. He told me that the other driver no longer worked for them. The companyContinue reading “Second Week of May”
Beginning of May
Wednesday, May 1, 2024 It was sunny when I got up – around 7 AM. While fixing breakfast (french toast) I glanced down at the bird feeder on the Lanai. There was one of those green/yellow/orange birds (I wish I knew what they were) licking out the bottom of the bird feeder. OK, . .Continue reading “Beginning of May”
I have Returned – January 2024
After spending the holidays on the mainland, I went through the typical travel exercise and flew to Kona! After waiting at the gate in Phoenix, I flew to Las Vegas, where I waited again so that I could fly to Kona. There was snow on the moutain to the west of Las Vegas. Friday Got a ticket for not wearing my seatbelt – Damned Government Leaches! My seatbelt affects nobody but me! All this does is provides revenue for those who wish to control other people’s lives. Driveway is graveled all the way to the back of the “parking area” at the bottom. The slope of theContinue reading “September 14, 2023”

Tuesday Worked all day at the Ahi lot. Worked on clearing more of the large debris pile at the bottom end of the lot. Dug out the larger logs and carried them up to the pile on the side of the driveway Put the smaller ones on the pile at the bottom of the driveway where IContinue reading “September 12, 2023”

Saturday Went over to Ahi and watered all the plants. . . the papayas on the hill, the macademia nut tree, the two norfolk pines, the plumeria trees. Gathered up the empty water bottles and put them in the back of the car. Back at the Holowai lot, I ran the chipper for an hour –Continue reading “September 9, 2023”

Friday In the morning, I pulled out the weeds and did some trimming around where the chipper is sitting. In the afternoon, we went down to Honuapo to the ocean. The ocean was pretty calm, and we had the area all to ourselves. The swimming pool was full as were both wading pools. TTFN

Wednesday The load of 2 1/2″ minus sand and gravel arrived at the Holowai lot around 7:30 AM. I had the truck driver dump it just outside the double gates. It extended from the rock column supporting the gate to the roadway where vehicles travel. There is room for vehicles to get past, but I probably shouldContinue reading “September 6, 2023”
